DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 42nd Annual Mayors Prayer Breakfast on Thursday\, May 7th with guest speaker Samantha Williams.\n\n\n\nSamantha Williams is the Executive Director of Birmingham Promise\, an organization that helps Birmingham City Schools students achieve economic security\, mobility\, and prosperity. She previously worked at Teach For All\, a global network focused on expanding educational opportunity\, where she spent a decade in various roles including head of the Global Girls' Education Initiative\, chief of staff to the CEO\, and head of the Africa region.  \n\nBefore joining Teach For All\, Samantha worked for Harvard University\, where she managed a partnership with the University of Johannesburg Education Leadership Institute to support the professional development of South African educators. She previously worked in South Africa as a residence director and teacher at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls\, and in Atlanta with Communities In Schools of Georgia.\n\nA Daphne\, Alabama native\, Samantha is a graduate of Georgetown University\, and has master's degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and Harvard University.
