Bishop State Continues Enrollment Growth, Surpasses 4,000 Students for Fall 2024

Mobile, Ala., September 11, 2024 – Bishop State Community College remains on an upward trajectory, achieving a significant increase in student enrollment for the Fall 2024 semester. As of September 11, the college has registered 4,059 students, representing a 13.76% increase over Fall 2023 and an impressive 36.76% increase compared to Fall 2022. Bishop State has not seen comparative enrollment numbers in the last 18 years, when total enrollment reached 4,070 in Fall 2006.

The enrollment growth between Fall 2023 and Fall 2024 saw 491 additional students, with expectations to surpass 500 after the start of Mini-term 2 in October. This increase marks another major milestone for the college, reflecting the success of strategic initiatives to expand access to quality education and career training.

The comparison figures demonstrate the institution's progress:

· Fall 2024: 4,059 students registered (as of September 11, 2024)

· Fall 2023: 3,566 students registered (as of September 11, 2023)

· Fall 2022: 2,797 students registered (as of September 11, 2022)

Bishop State has also reported the highest number of dual enrollment students on record for Fall 2024, showcasing the college’s growing collaboration with local K-12 schools to offer early college opportunities to high school students.
