Universal Banker

Summary:

The Universal Banker is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience by performing both teller and personal banker functions. This position requires strong relationship-building skills, the ability to cross-sell financial products, and accuracy in processing transactions. The Universal Banker plays a key role in achieving branch goals while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and bank policies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding service to all customers by handling transactions efficiently and professionally.
  • Open and maintain deposit accounts, process loan applications, and assist customers with digital banking services.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend financial solutions to enhance their banking relationship.
  • Meet or exceed sales and referral goals as assigned.
  • Accurately process cash transactions, maintain a balanced cash drawer, and adhere to security protocols.
  • Resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and problems in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and federal regulations including BSA/AML.
  • Support branch operations, including opening/closing procedures and audits.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development activities to maintain job knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of banking, retail sales, or customer service experience.
  • Cash handling experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn banking systems quickly.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
