Description
Local historian and author John S. Sledge will discuss his new book, "The Gulf of Mexico: A Maritime History." Sledge is the senior architectural historian for the Mobile Historic Development Commission and the author of six previous books. His latest work is a narrative of the earth's tenth-largest body of water, including the people, ships, and cities that have shaped the Gulf’s human history. After the presentation, Sledge will sign copies of his book, which will be available in the Bellingrath Gift Shop.The program is part of the Winter Wednesdays series in January and February at Bellingrath Gardens and Home.
