Description
The City of Daphne, Mobile Bay Area Veterans Commission and The South Alabama Veterans Council cordially invite you to join us in honoring America's Veterans at a special ceremony recognizing our Purple Heart Recipients.
Guest Speakers: Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Cancellor of Troy University
Dr. Andrew Del Gaudio, Military Order Purple Heart Department of Alabama Commander
The Purple Heart is the nation's oldest military medal, awarded to United States Armed Forces Service members who are wounded or killed in combat. It was created by General George Washington in 1782 as a Badge of Military Merit to recognize heroic acts by his troops.
