Alabama will hold its eleventh annual sales tax holiday, beginning Friday, August 5, 2016 at 12:01 a.m. and ending Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 12 midnight, giving shoppers the opportunity to purchase certain school supplies, computers and clothing free of state sales tax. Local sales tax may apply. CLOTHING - $100 or Less, per article of clothing COMPUTERS, COMPUTER SOFTWARE, & SCHOOL COMPUTER SUPPLIES - A single purchase with a sales price of $750 or Less SCHOOL SUPPLIES, SCHOOL ART SUPPLIES & SCHOOL INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL - Sales Price of $50 or Less, per item (Noncommercial Purchases) BOOKS – Sales Price of $30 or Less, per book (Noncommercial Purchases) Follow the website link for more information about what is included and what is not.
