SUMMARY:The Humanities in Alabama: History\, Natural History\, Folklife\, and the Arts Lecture Series
DESCRIPTION:Daphne Public Library's own Special Collections Librarian Ashley Hudson will speak about the Daphne Special Collections. Speaker Bio: Ashley has a Masters in Digital & Social Media Marketing and a Masters in Library & Information Studies. She has worked at the Daphne Public Library for over year and in that time has helped with collection development and cataloging of the Special Collection. Ms. Hudson has also created an in-house searchable database. She will discuss the Special Collections\, archival materials\, as well as provide a demonstration of the in-house database\, including: how the collection was started\, range of topics\, types of materials. Also\, Ashley will discuss her In-house Special Collections Database: materials included\, demonstration of how it works\, demonstration of how we scan an item on our new two-page scanner to be uploaded for viewing in database. This project is supported by the Alabama Humanities Alliance\, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
